CMD’s biggest sale of the year is back! The Metal Madness Sale will be held in phases by product type. We’ll be kicking things off with EARRINGS starting next week on Tuesday, March 18th! Here’s what you need to know:
The best part of this sale is the limited edition design drops. Last year, we sold through every. single. piece. This year will be no different, and I can’t wait to share these exclusive designs with you! Mark your calendars, because you’ll want to shop quickly to collect your favorites before someone else does.
Phase 1 will include 39 One-of-a-Kind (OOAK) Earrings, released in three parts on Instagram:
Part 1 (Styles 1-12) — Wednesday, March 19
Part 2 (Styles 13-24) — Thursday, March 20
Part 3 (Styles 25-39) — Friday, March 21
The only way to shop these exclusive designs is to tune in on Instagram for the unveil and grab your favorites on our website through each part’s designated OOAK (one-of-a-kind) listing. There’s only one (or two) of each style, so if you see something you love, snag it!
In addition to these one-of-a-kind beauties, we’re also retiring select designs in all categories, offering them at 20–50% off for a limited time. Once the sale ends, these designs are gone for good — so this is your chance to scoop up classic CMD pieces before we officially bid them farewell.
This annual online sale event started years ago when one of my employees stumbled upon a huge box of jewelry in our shop’s back closet. At the time, I was such a perfectionist that I refused to sell any piece with even the slightest blemish. My employee convinced me to sell them at a discount (shoutout to Laura for that brilliant idea!), and just like that, Metal Madness was born.
What started as a wild, in-person event back in CMD’s San Francisco days — with people lining up around the block — has now evolved into an online-only sale that brings CMD jewelry to fans across the country (and beyond!). Over the years, I’ve learned that the tiny imperfections I once obsessed over are often things only I would notice. Many of you actually love these unique marks, as they’re a reminder that each CMD piece is truly handmade with love.
Plus, I know CMD jewelry can feel like a splurge, so this sale is the perfect chance to start or grow your CMD collection at a lower price. Nothing makes me happier than knowing these pieces are finding good homes!
Metal Madness will be ONLINE ONLY — no exceptions! Since I don’t have a full support staff in Asbury Park (just me and Migs!), it’s not feasible to host an in-person sale like we did in the old days. This way, CMD fans everywhere have equal access to the best sale of the year.
I will have a limited supply of one-of-a-kind and retired pieces available during this month’s CMD Shop Open Hours, but Metal Madness sale items will not be shown or sold in virtual or in-person appointments.

This sale is ONLINE ONLY — Sale items will not be available during virtual or in-person appointments. However, Colleen will have a limited selection of designs NOT available online (one-of-a-kind or already-retired) available during events held at The CMD Shop. All sales are final — no exceptions!
Most sale items are in perfect condition — they’re just trial, overstock or older designs. Any imperfections are minor and often not noticeable to the average eye. Photos may not reflect these small variations.
Signature CMD boxes are NOT included in sale orders. To keep prices low, items will ship in minimal packaging. Need a gift box? Add one to your order for $3.
Affordable shipping: $5 for First Class, $11 for Priority. Express shipping is unavailable during the sale.
