Long before I became a jewelry designer, I understood how different I felt with my hands covered in metal. Jewelry made me feel stronger, more expressive and somehow more like myself. All these years later, that feeling is still at the heart of what I design for CMD.

When I sit down at my workbench, usually with a fresh cup of coffee and a pencil sketch that’s already been lived in a little, I’m thinking about more than metal and stone. I’m thinking about the way jewelry becomes part of us. How a single piece can carry a memory, mark a milestone or become such a familiar part of your everyday uniform that you almost forget you’re wearing it.

I still remember buying my first chunky silver ring when I was 18 on spring break in Cancun, Mexico. It was a Mayan sundial ring that I “splurged” on for $40 at a market. Money was really tight at home and I worked weekends throughout high school, so forty bucks felt significant. But even then, I understood that I wasn’t simply buying a ring. In some small way, I was investing in myself.

I still have that ring. Today, it reminds me of the winding road that eventually turned metal into my medium and jewelry into my life’s work. That’s part of what I mean when I talk about everyday armor: pieces that help us feel powerful in the present while slowly collecting the stories that may make them heirlooms someday.

That philosophy runs through so much of The Ring Bar, but it feels especially alive in the rings and stacks below. Many of these designs grew out of years of Custom and Reconstruction work, one-of-a-kind heirlooms and conversations with clients who wanted jewelry that felt distinctive, wearable and completely their own.

If you have family diamonds or stones you’ve been saving, several of these designs can also serve as inspiration for a future Reconstruction project. We may be able to incorporate your original stones into something inspired by the CMD collection while creating an entirely personal piece for you.

Everyday Armor, Future Heirlooms

I’ve never believed that heirloom jewelry has to begin as something formal or precious that spends most of its life in a box. Often, the pieces that become most meaningful are the ones we actually live in. They’re the rings that pick up little marks from years of wear, the stacks that change as we do and the pieces associated with entire chapters of our lives.

That’s also why I believe so strongly in choosing jewelry slowly and intentionally. A great piece doesn’t need to follow every trend. It needs to work on your body, feel unmistakably like you and be made well enough to stay with you for whatever comes next.

Build a Stack That Becomes Part of Your Story

A great stack doesn’t have to happen all at once. Some of my favorite CMD sets have been built slowly over years, with each addition marking a birthday, anniversary, career change, new chapter or simply the discovery of another ring someone couldn’t stop thinking about.
