The day before Thanksgiving has always felt a little sacred to me. There’s a collective exhale in the air — a quiet pause before the food, the laughter, the inevitable second (or third!) slice of pie. Before we all scatter into our respective rituals, I wanted to take a moment to share a sincere thank you.
This year has been big. Beautiful. A little wild at times. And so, so meaningful.
First up: we turned twenty this year! I still can’t quite wrap my head around that number.
Celebrating our 20th Anniversary felt like looking through a kaleidoscope of every customer, every piece of jewelry, every late-night design sprint, and every joyful moment we’ve had along the way. The anniversary party in Asbury Park was one I’ll never forget — so many familiar faces, hugs, and stories that reminded me exactly why I started CMD in the first place. Jewelry is the medium, but connection has always been the point.
I’m incredibly lucky to work alongside a small-but-mighty team of creative, dedicated, detail-obsessed women. Ary and Sam up in our Upstate New York studio, Kelsey in Connecticut, and myself over on the coast of the Jersey shore in Asbury Park. We support each other through deadlines, design dilemmas, production sprints, and everything in between. The work we do is hands-on and heart-forward, and it truly takes all of us.
I’m grateful for my friends and family — their steady support, their humor, their patience, and the grounding sense of home they give me no matter how hectic things get. Every milestone feels sweeter with all of you… and you know who you are!
And then there’s you. Whether you’ve been with us since 2005 or you found us last week, your support means the world to us. Every like, every comment, every DM, every order — big or small — keeps this little women-run business going. When you share an Instagram or TikTok post, recommend CMD to a friend, or choose one of our pieces for a meaningful moment, you play a part in our story. I don’t take that lightly. Not for a second. It’s heartwarming how so many of my clients have become dear friends over the years. I feel so beyond lucky!
And speaking of gratitude: CMD's Plaid Friday Sale is officially underway! This is our favorite alternative to the big-box Black Friday frenzy — Plaid Friday is a celebration of shopping small, supporting local makers, and investing in craftsmanship over chaos.
Our best sale of the year is officially live!
Take 20% OFF orders under $500 (code: SMALL20)
25% OFF orders over $500 (code: SMALL25)
5% OFF all Special Occasion solid 14k gold pieces (code: SOLIDGOLD)
The sale will end on Giving Tuesday, December 2nd at midnight PST.

The CMD Shop in Asbury Park will be open Saturday 11/29 from 11am to 5pm and Sunday 11/30 from 10am to 2pm. If you’re local, I’d love to see you, help you stack, or chat about custom projects. Shopping small truly makes a difference, and all of us here at CMD thank you for choosing businesses like ours this season.

Whatever your Thanksgiving looks like this year — big gatherings, quiet evenings, chosen family, or something in between — I hope it’s peaceful, safe, and filled with moments that remind you what’s good in your world.
Everyone you meet is carrying something unseen. Be gentle. Be patient. Be kind to yourself, too. From all of us at CMD, happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for being part of our story.
With love, respect and gratitude,
Colleen

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to get out, reconnect, and spend more time face-to-face. I’m especially excited for a few upcoming chances to do just that — whether you’re local or a little farther away. Here's what's coming up over the next few weeks: First, Open Hours this weekend right here in Asbury Park. After [...]
If you’ve been thinking about transforming old or inherited heirloom jewelry into something new, I know it can come with a lot of questions. What happens to your pieces? How long does it take? When do you make decisions? I want to walk you through exactly what a reconstruction project looks [...]
One of the most common questions we hear is simple: “What size should I order?” And the honest answer is — there’s a bit of nuance. Over time, and through making tons of rings by hand, we’ve learned that shape matters just as much as size. Square rings = order true to size. Round or mixed stacks = order ½ size up [...]
