20 Years in the Making: A Recap of CMD’s Anniversary Celebration

Wow… what a glorious weekend. ✨

I’m still feeling the glow from CMD’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll be coming down from it any time soon! Saturday’s soirée in Asbury Park was pure magic. From the heartfelt hugs to the surprise visitors, it was one of those nights that reminds me exactly why I started this journey twenty years ago. Building lifetime connections with humans through my metal medium… that’s truly my why!

A Night to Remember

On Saturday, October 4th, we gathered in Asbury Park to toast an incredible milestone: 20 years of CMD. What began as a one-woman show at a bedroom desk two decades ago has blossomed into a thriving small business built on creativity, community, and connection. Seeing so many of you — my loving and supportive family, longtime and new friends, loyal collectors and local clients, and beloved community members — come together to celebrate was nothing short of magical.

The evening was filled with so many meaningful moments and the sun was shining on our backs on a perfectly sunny fall afternoon. The Bubbly Bar by Sweet Bar of Mine was set up in the outdoor garden where folks lounged and chatted away. We shared laughter, hugs, stories, and a few happy tears as we looked back on the journey that’s brought CMD to this point. Dani B’s cookie Ring Bar and C’est Cheese’s gorgeous charcuterie spread were huge hits. Not to mention the flowers — did you see all the stunning arrangements from Harley Rose!? My house is overflowing with vibrant flowers as I write this.

Guests sipped, stacked, and mingled beneath the warm lights at Space & Co, just one block from The CMD Shop. It was especially meaningful to have the entire CMD Team together under one roof — something that doesn’t happen nearly enough these days. I also had quite a conglomerate of San Francisco friends there so it felt like a mini reunion. And I have to extend a huge thank you to our dear friends and customers that made it out to celebrate with us — every one of you played a part in making this night so incredibly special.

Thank You, From the Bottom of Our Hearts

Whether you joined us in person, sent your love from afar, or supported CMD in countless ways over the years, thank you. The texts, DM’s, calls, cards, flowers, gifts have been overwhelming for me – in the best way!  This celebration wasn’t just about looking back — it was about honoring the incredible community that has shaped CMD’s story.

Here’s to two decades of handmade jewelry, meaningful connections, and shared stories. And here’s to everything still to come.

Thank you for 20 unforgettable years. 💛 My heart is bursting at the seams!

With so much love and gratitude,
Colleen

Friends, CMD’s 20th Anniversary Party is almost here and the nostalgia has really set in! I’ve been looking through old photos and reminiscing about CMD in the early days. That first leap of faith — saying yes to a studio I wasn’t sure I could afford — taught me something I’ve carried with me ever since: little risks open big doors. Every milestone CMD has reached since then has been built on that same  [...]

I had no roadmap, no investors, and no idea where this path would take me. What I did have was grit, curiosity, and an unstoppable urge to create. Two decades later, CMD has grown into a small-but-mighty brand with a team I love, a community I treasure, and designs that still light me up at the bench. [...]
