Pull-through earrings are one of those designs that can feel a little mysterious the first time you put them on. They're beautifully simple once you know how they work, but there's one important trick to putting them on without changing their shape over time.
I made this quick video to show you exactly how I put on, wear and care for my pull-through earring designs.
The most important thing to remember is don't pull the two ends straight apart. It might feel like the natural way to create enough room for your ear, but repeatedly pulling them outward can distort the shape of the earring over time.
Instead, gently wiggle the ends in opposite directions on the vertical plane, moving one slightly forward and the other slightly backward. You're creating just enough space to slide the earring onto your ear without stretching the overall shape. Once it's in place, use the same gentle motion in reverse to bring the earring back into its original continuous shape.
Once you get the movement down, putting them on becomes second nature. The goal is simply to work with the shape of the earring rather than pulling against it. A little care when you're putting them on and taking them off will help preserve the shape so you can keep wearing them for years.
