I know how overwhelming it can feel to purchase a piece of jewelry for someone else.  Will they like it?  Does it suit them? Your head might be spinning, but I’m here to help.

When shopping for someone else, I recommend thinking about the following:

  1. What type of style does she have?  If she leans towards classic looks, I recommend something simple and dainty like this versatile necklace or a pair of super simple earrings.  If you’re shopping for more of an edgy gal, I might recommend these black & gold mixed metal earrings or this intriguing design.
  2. If you’re looking at all those pieces thinking to yourself, “I’m not sure which she’d prefer!”never fear. Try a different approach and choose a piece with symbolic meaning.  For example, a 5-loop bangle for a 50th birthday or a4-loop necklace to represent each member of your family.  Personalized touches are a special way to celebrate her with a shiny gift.
  3. When all else fails, think about what kind of piece will become her next everyday favorite.  Some of my most-loved, no-brainer pieces that appeal to a very wide variety of women include this necklace and these earrings.

It warms my heart when I am able to personally interact with customers, or when my staff shares a sweet story about how one of our pieces became an extension of the person buying it, or when someone is thrilled to have found the perfect gift.  If you need help, you can always call us in the Showroom during regular store hours (11am-7pm PST Tuesday-Saturday) or shoot us an email:  showroom@colleenmauerdesigns.com.  We can’t wait to help you wow your loved ones with a gift you feel just as amazing giving as you would receiving it.

I’ve been in business for 17+ years and I absolutely love talking shop, especially with other small business owners. I have lots of my own ideas and sometimes (strong) opinions about things I’ve learned along the way. It’s always so interesting and thrilling to hear other people’s perspectives, too. [...]

My mom always says that even as a little tot, I was a perfectionist. I've always been deliberate and intentional – I took my time. When I finally did start walking at 16 months, I cruised clear across the room like I owned the place. As a kid, my space was always neat and organized [...]
