Here in San Francisco, we’re experiencing what us locals like to call our second summer. October is a fabulous month to visit SF. The temperature is mild in the 60’s and 70’s, and the afternoons have plenty of sunshine and little to no rain throughout the month. If you’re out in the Mission District this time of year, be sure to meander on through the Colleen Mauer Designs Showroom on Valencia Street. We’ll be waiting there for you with smiles and sparkly things, and we can help you pick out your next favorite piece or get started on some holiday shopping.
Meanwhile, on the East Coast, it’s surely Autumn. I was born and raised in New Jersey and I do miss the dazzling changes that happen during the fall foliage season. And really, who doesn’t love some good sweater weather? It’s a time to be cozy and warm, yet stylish and this time of year I find myself drawn more and more to longer layered mixed metal pieces, like this Gold, Black & Silver Long Multi Triangle Necklace or my brand new Long Double Square Necklace in Silver and Rose or Yellow Gold. These styles are perfect over your go-to sweater and jeans combo and can be easily paired with styles of any color-way or metal shade.
My production gals send me these beautiful foliage photos from Upstate New York. Who else is on the East Coast? What’s your favorite thing about Fall?

If you’ve been holding onto diamonds, want to recycle metal for [...]
When LP Giobbi asked me backstage at the Fox Theatre if I would design her and Chad’s wedding bands, I was absolutely floored. Floored in the “hold it together, Colleen” kind of way. Internally, I was doing cartwheels. If you’ve been here a while, you know that LP and I first connected through music and mutual admiration. What began as a soul-recognition [...]
Over the years, I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten requests to repurpose precious family diamonds or to redesign jewelry to have a CMD aesthetic. Clearly, there is a real interest in transforming heirloom pieces, resetting diamonds, or creating something entirely new from older jewelry you no longer wear. You asked and now, we deliver! [...]
