Some of my favorite CMD stacks are the ones that live alongside jewelry carrying an entirely different story. Robin is a perfect example. She has an incredible eye for mixing CMD pieces with the jewelry that already means the most to her, creating combinations that feel personal, layered and completely her own.
Robin is a California girl through and through, a longtime member of the CMD Family and someone whose style I've always loved seeing out in the wild. She's also a two-time breast cancer survivor, and one of the most meaningful pieces in her collection is a survivor key from The Giving Keys. For Robin, that key carries a story much bigger than what she's wearing with it.
One of the things I love about Robin's style is that she doesn't separate sentimental jewelry from the pieces she wears simply because she loves the design. They all get to live together. Her survivor key can sit beside CMD rings, pieces collected over the years and whatever else feels right that day.
That's how I think jewelry should work. A collection doesn't need to come from one designer, one period of your life or one perfectly coordinated aesthetic. The pieces that matter become part of your visual language, and sometimes the contrast between them is exactly what makes everything feel more personal.
Robin's CMD rings lean into the clean geometry and mixed metals I love, including the Channel & Diamond Square Ring. She layers them in a way that feels substantial without becoming too precious about what technically "matches."
That's one of my favorite things about a good stack. You can combine silver, gold, diamonds, square bands, sentimental pieces and whatever else has earned a place on your hand. The point isn't perfection. It's recognition. You look down and think, yep, that's me.
Robin has also been open about wanting to support other patients and survivors, and I think there's something powerful about wearing a piece that represents what you've lived through while still allowing it to be part of your everyday style. Meaningful jewelry doesn't have to sit separately in a box waiting for the "right" occasion.
Wear it with the other rings. Stack something new beside it. Let pieces from completely different chapters share the same hand. Jewelry gets more interesting when your actual life is allowed into the mix.
