Jen is a curly hair guru in training, restaurant connoisseur, cat lover, and Jersey Girl to the core. She was raised in Howell, NJ and currently lives in Long Branch, just up the coast from Asbury. Jen had a change of heart about her career path after losing her father a few years ago. Following her heart and passion for makeup and hair felt like a more familiar and inspiring plan. She started off in the world of makeup and quickly developed a love of hair. She’s currently finishing up an apprenticeship at Lock and Shade right here in Asbury Park.
The owner of the salon, Bianca styled Jen’s incredible hair for the Hand Project Shoot. When I asked Jen what her favorite thing is about Asbury, she shared that she loves the vibe of community. She says you can just be who you are and everyone is appreciated for their own unique style.
When I first met Jen I was struck by her porcelain skin, gorgeous red, curly hair and her kind demeanor. It’s not surprising that Jen told me she’s very empathetic and always tries to see the best in everyone. When not at the salon, you’ll find Jen with her tuxedo cat named Lola or dining at some of her favorite local spots like Brando's Citi Cucina, Palscal and Sabine or Cardinal Provisions. She’s also dreaming up her solo backpacking trip through Europe.

I’m excited to bump into Jen around town rocking some CMD and hopefully grab a meal with her sometime soon. Thank you, Jen - you’re a gem.
Miglia and I are sort of attached at the hip. Nine out of ten times you see me walking down the street, Miglia will be with me. I bring her everywhere – she comes with me to work, she runs errands with me, we eat our meals together, she goes to the beach with me…she’s with me all the [...]
By now, you may have noticed CMD's trend towards smaller, more frequent product launches. As a designer, I love the challenge of being creatively disciplined. Part of this practice involves writing in my journal and drawing in my sketchbook daily. The joy and fulfillment that [...]
I’ve been thinking a lot about spring and the sensations we’re all experiencing with the waking of the season. Everything is fully engaged in the world’s re-ignition, including the singing birds and new buds of a complicated vine. Every living and breathing being is enjoying these sensations, and it’s a beautiful thing [...]
