Design Lab is an experiment, let me tell you more...
I've prioritized focusing on my creativity and design in the studio more than ever this year. My team and I are working on all kinds of designs, methods and combinations. These new pieces are fresh off the bench and will be available for a limited time. Your feedback will play a role in my design process and some of these pieces may become part of our permanent collection.
When I was a student at Virginia Tech, my primary Industrial Design class was called 'Lab.' In this ongoing course, we deliberately designed and tested our ideas. The process began with conceptualization, then onto sketching, modeling, refining, critiquing and then refining again. It was iteration after iteration in Lab and this is how I blossomed into a holistic designer. From this experience, I've developed CMD's Design Lab concept.
Design Lab features cohesive micro-collections. Each micro-collection will be finished iterations of a concept that I've been developing over the course of time. The most exciting part is that it gives me more creative freedom than ever. Please join me for the first Design Lab that will take place on Thursday, August 5that 7pm EST on Instagram Live. I can't wait.

Since the beginning of this year, clients from coast to coast have been mailing, carrying and carefully placing deeply personal jewelry into my hands. Old engagement rings. Broken chains. Inherited heirlooms. Pieces tied to marriages, grandparents, milestones, grief, growth and entirely different [...]
There’s a conversation we’ve been having more and more often lately at CMD. It usually starts with someone asking about solid gold. Sometimes it’s because they’re marking something important: an engagement, a milestone birthday, a push present, an anniversary [...]
