Some designs keep asking to be revisited. The 14k Gold Line Ring grew out of one of those ideas: a simple carved line running around a substantial band, creating contrast through nothing more than finish, proportion and the way light moves across the metal.
The ring is 6mm wide and available in yellow, white or rose 14k gold. A hand-carved line travels around the entire band, staying naturally bright against the surrounding matte finish. That little difference in surface treatment gives the design its character. From a distance it's clean and minimal; up close, the line catches the light and reveals the handwork behind the piece.
The idea has roots in our Sausalito Ring from the Black & White Collection. That ring uses oxidized sterling silver and a carved line to create a graphic contrast between darkness and bright metal, and over the years I noticed how often people were drawn to it as a wedding band.
I loved the idea of taking that same visual language and translating it into solid gold. Without the black oxidation, the contrast becomes more subtle. Instead of dark against light, you're seeing matte gold beside a bright carved line, which gives the ring a quieter but still very distinct personality.
It's a good example of something I come back to often as a designer: a design doesn't always need to be reinvented from scratch to become something different. Changing the material can completely change the way you experience a familiar form.
What I particularly love about the 14k Gold Line Ring is how restrained the design is. There isn't a lot competing for attention, so the proportions, the finish and that single carved line get to do the work.
For someone who wants a little more sparkle, the ring can also be made with a flush-set 1.5mm diamond. The stone stays integrated into the band rather than sitting above it, so even with a diamond the overall design remains streamlined and easy to wear.
Because of its width and simplicity, I especially love this ring as a wedding band. Solid 14k gold gives it the longevity you'd want from a piece intended for everyday wear, while the carved line keeps it from feeling like a completely traditional gold band.
It's also not limited to weddings. A substantial solid gold ring can mark an anniversary, milestone or simply the decision to invest in something you plan to wear for a very long time. The design is intentionally uncomplicated enough to stand on its own but can also live comfortably beside other rings as your collection changes.
