I Thought We'd Book Three Projects. We Booked Nineteen.

 
There are moments in business that stop you in your tracks. Not because something went wrong, but because something went so unexpectedly right that you need a minute to let it sink in.

I've cried a few times over the last several months. Not because I've been feeling blue or exhausted, but because I've been overwhelmed with joy. There have been so many times where I've had to stop and ask myself, How did I get here? I truly believe the Universe guided me here, even before I realized this was the work I was meant to do.

Earlier this year, before I headed out to the Bay Area to reconnect with my community and host some pop-ups, I asked Kelsey to open my calendar and see what the interest would be for Reconstruction appointments. I would have been psyched to book three or four projects while I was there.

I couldn’t believe it when we booked nineteen. I was floored. At the time, that number felt impossible to believe. Looking back now, I realize it was only the beginning.

Since returning home, the interest in Reconstruction has continued to grow. We've welcomed so many more projects into the studio, and today we have a beautiful backlog of designs in progress. Every week new appointments are added to the calendar, and our jewelry benches are filled with heirlooms, engagement rings, family diamonds, sketches, waxes, and works in progress waiting for their next chapter.

What has surprised me most isn't the number of projects but the stories that come with them. Every appointment becomes so much more than a conversation about jewelry. We talk about parents and grandparents, marriages and divorces, milestones, loss, joy, and the people whose stories are woven into these pieces. People aren't coming to me because they simply want a new ring or necklace. They trust me with family history, and together we create something that honors where these pieces have been while making them part of the life they're living today.

There is an incredible responsibility that comes with that kind of trust, and I never take it lightly. Every Reconstruction project reminds me why I started making jewelry in the first place. Metal has always been my medium, but connection has become my craft. Designing beautiful jewelry matters to me, but helping someone carry their story in a way that feels personal and wearable is what gives this work its deepest purpose.

Looking back, I believe the Universe was nudging me in this direction long before I fully understood it myself. Every collection, every custom design, every lesson at the jewelry bench prepared me for this chapter. Today, old wedding bands become everyday rings, heirloom diamonds are modern art forms, and forgotten pieces tucked away in jewelry boxes become the pieces reached for every single day. I keep reminding myself to pause and breathe it all in.
