Introducing Alexander Samuel Hudson AKA Hudson who is a very dear friend of mine. We met in the literal dust at Burning Man back in 2007, and I was delighted when he agreed to be part of the Hand Project.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Alex moved to Manhattan in 2007 and Brooklyn is now his forever home. Alex is Senior Manager of Workplace Experience at Kickstarter and basically a super bad ass.
When I first moved back to the East Coast, I was so excited to have Alex and his partner Michael practically in my backyard - just a little drive north into Wiliamsburg, Brooklyn. Alex is the dude that you want on your team…he’ll show up to your house ready to BBQ, eager to prepare a most perfect meal. When I wanted someone to jump in the frigid ocean with me on Christmas Eve, Alex happily showed up ready for the challenge (new tradition, woot!).
If you are lucky enough to visit his new home in Brooklyn, you’ll be transported to a mesmerizing Japanese inspired outdoor garden that he and Michael have articulately designed and maintained with a little help from SP Landscapes. It’s a full-on Zen experience. 🧘♀️😌 He’s a master of creating a mood with music and he certainly doesn’t mess around the dance floor. He’s a big bag of fun and his smile is completely infectious. 😁 He loves to sail the ocean blue and has also become quite a Cross Fit fanatic. You might find Alex cruising around Asbury -- a new favorite home away from home. He appreciates that AP is so close to the city but you really feel miles away.
When asked about CMD jewelry, Alex said, “The jewelry makes me feel strong and confident. It feels like my body armor. When I put on my cuffs and my earrings, it brings out this confidence that I already have inside.”
You’ll find Alex switching out a bunch of his single stud earrings depending on his mood. Alex is truly one of my favorite humans and best friends on the planet. I love you to pieces, Hudseez.
I've cried a few times over the last several months. Not because I've been overwhelmed or exhausted, but because I've been overwhelmed with joy. There have been so many times where I've had to stop and ask myself, How did I get here? I truly believe the Universe guided me here, even [...]

One of the things I wish more divorced women knew is that they don't have to choose between keeping their wedding ring tucked away in a safe deposit box forever or getting rid of it completely. I want to encourage you to think differently here because there IS a [...]
