Virgo has a reputation for noticing what everyone else misses. The tiny inconsistency. The thing that's a millimeter off. The detail that could be better if someone cared enough to keep working on it.
As a jewelry designer, I can relate.
Virgo is an earth sign ruled by Mercury and represented by the Maiden, traditionally associated with the harvest. It's a sign connected to discernment, craft, practicality and the process of refining something until it feels right. When I designed the Virgo Ring, I wanted those ideas to live in the details of the jewelry itself.
The Virgo Ring is a substantial 7mm wide brushed sterling silver band. Running precisely through its center is a single hand-carved line, oxidized black so that the smallest element of the design becomes the thing your eye notices.
That's what feels particularly Virgo about it to me. There isn't a lot competing for your attention. The proportions, finish and placement of that one line have to do the work.
The oxidized finish also settles into the carved line itself, where it is more protected than oxidation on an exposed surface. It's a small functional detail, but Virgo would probably appreciate that too.
I didn't want to interpret Virgo by putting a Maiden or another literal zodiac symbol onto a ring. When I design jewelry around an idea, I'm much more interested in figuring out what that idea might look and feel like as a piece of CMD jewelry.
For Virgo, that meant restraint. A strong sterling silver band. A brushed surface. One precise line. Nothing is there simply to decorate the piece, and nothing needs to be added to make it feel complete.
It's also a design that rewards a closer look. From a distance, the Virgo Ring is beautifully simple. Up close, you notice the contrast between the brushed silver and dark carved line, the proportions and the handwork that went into getting something so minimal exactly where it needs to be.
The Virgo Ring is part of my Zodiac Series, but you certainly don't need to be a Virgo to wear it. You might connect with the archetype, love someone born under the sign or simply be drawn to substantial silver jewelry and really good details.
That's what I want these pieces to do. They can carry the symbolism if it means something to you, while still feeling like modern, wearable CMD jewelry if it doesn't.
