As the year comes to a close, I’ve been sitting with a deep sense of gratitude and reflection. 2025 was a full year — creatively, emotionally, and energetically. It stretched me, grounded me, challenged me, and ultimately reminded me why I chose this path all those years ago. I’m dedicating this year to the 26-year old woman who had the courage to start an artistic venture, knowing she could make ANYTHING happen. I’m so beyond proud of her.
CMD has never been just about jewelry. It’s about connection, growth, and honoring the seasons of life — and this year felt like a powerful chapter in that ongoing story.
Here’s a look back at what 2025 brought to CMD.
The biggest headline of the year? CMD turned 20. Twenty years of designing, making, stacking, soldering, learning, and evolving. That number still feels surreal. What started at a tiny desk in San Francisco has grown into a small-but-mighty, woman-run business rooted in craft and community.
Celebrating this milestone wasn’t just about longevity — it was about honoring the people, risks, and relationships that carried CMD here. From our 20th Anniversary Celebration to reflective blog posts to the launch of The Big Two-Oh Collection, this year invited me to look back with pride and forward with excitement.
The 20th Anniversary Celebration in Asbury Park in October — with our full team together, surrounded by longtime customers, friends, and family — was one of the most meaningful nights of my career. It reminded me that jewelry is the medium, but connection is the craft.
Creatively, 2025 was incredibly fulfilling.
We introduced bold new designs that pushed CMD forward while staying deeply rooted in our aesthetic — everyday armor with heirloom energy. From sculptural statement rings to refined Special Occasion Stacks, many of this year’s pieces were born directly from custom work, client conversations, and years of listening.
We launched the Square Armor Ring, new shape and size variations of the Framework Ring, a handful of gorgeous new Special Occasion Bands, new Stack designs like the best-seller Colleen's Pinky Ring Set (available in both Everyday and Special Occasion versions) and The Big Two-Oh Collection… just to name a few! We also started offering more customizable and hand-stamped pieces like the re-imagined Cancerian Keepsake Ring. My Big Two-Oh Collection feels transformative. Each piece was designed to not only be wearable, but a special object to treasure. I loved witnessing them becoming an extension of you!
One of the most rewarding parts of 2025 was the continued focus on Special Occasion Jewelry, custom projects and heirloom redesigns.
Helping clients re-imagine family diamonds, old wedding sets, or sentimental stones into something modern and meaningful never gets old. Each project is deeply personal — and being trusted with those stories is an honor I don’t take lightly. This year certainly reinforced just how powerful jewelry can be when it carries history and intention.
This year brought so many moments of real connection. From Ring Bar Pop-Ups on both coasts, to Open Hours at The CMD Shop, to both virtual and in-person appointments and late-night DM conversations on Instagram and TikTok — I loved connecting with so many of you and hearing your stories.
Our community also continued to grow online in a really beautiful way. TikTok became a space for creativity, education, and connection, and it’s been so fun welcoming new faces into the CMD universe. Watching Dream Stacks go viral, seeing longtime clients share their pieces, and hearing “I found you on TikTok!” never stops feeling magical.
None of this happens without the women behind CMD. Ary and Sam in our Upstate New York production studio, Kelsey holding down the digital world, and me bouncing between the bench, the shop, and the road — this year reminded me how special our small but mighty team truly is.
We worked hard and supported each other through busy seasons, and stayed committed to quality, care, and integrity. I’m endlessly grateful for this crew.
2025 also asked me to slow down.
Time out west, time on the road, time off-grid, time at the beach, time in the bathtub — these moments of rest weren’t distractions from the work. They were essential to it. Creativity needs space to breathe, and this year reinforced that balance is not optional — it’s necessary.
As I look back on 2025, the feeling that rises above everything else is gratitude.
