Happy happy International Women’s Day. I’m so, so proud to be a female owned and operated small business! For those of you who don’t already know, I currently have an incredible all-women bi-coastal team and I don’t know what I’d do without them.
There’s a touching human connection element to handmade products that you just don’t get with mass-produced jewelry. When you have something in your hand that someone else made, it feels different than if it was made by a machine. It tells a story.
Valentine’s Day is a bit of a Hallmark Holiday, but I don’t think it has to be. I think it’s just a great day as any to show up and express your love – for the people you care for and for yourself. Whether you’re married, in a relationship or single, love and self-love should always come first.
I want to challenge the way you think about the value in shopping small. Remember how important it is to shop in stores and support our local communities and neighbors. As we continue to see small spaces closing, I encourage you to consider the part you play in contributing to what makes your neighborhood vibrant.
Part of our main focuses for 2019 is a brand re-design with YOU, our customer, in mind. We want to better show the flavor that each person’s individual style brings to the brand and the jewelry. I’m so gosh darn excited to show you everything that we’ve been working on behind the scenes.
If you haven’t been into the Showroom, I’d love to invite you to swing by and join me here. It’s my home away from home. You can check out our creative space (brimming with tools and sketches) and try on any of our beautifully finished pieces. We even have a Ring Bar where you can build customized stacks.
It can be hard to part ways with a piece even for a short while when it becomes a seamlessly natural extension of your own style and personal expression. However, the truth is, the less you can do to wear the surface off, the longer a gold-fill piece will last.
Layering jewelry is my favorite way to put my favorite baubles and sparkly things on display and shake things up. Stacking isn’t just for rings, either. You can create your perfect arm or ear stack, or a cascading necklace effect. The trick is getting the right pieces in place.
These pieces are near and dear to me. The matte gold is soft, but stunning, and highlights the subtle but gorgeous transition between the two metals. It’s sweet, but bold… different. These pieces are available in matte and shiny, and combinations of the two. My personal favorite is matte all the way.
I was born and raised in New Jersey and I do miss the dazzling changes that happen during the fall foliage season. And really, who doesn’t love some good sweater weather? It’s a time to be cozy and warm, yet stylish, and this time of year I find myself drawn more and more to longer layered mixed metal pieces.
It took years of trial and error, but I stuck with it and always believed that if I worked hard, I could make anything happen. Starting a business takes at 26 take a lot of courage and perseverance, but I knew that living my life as a creative is what I was put on this planet to do.
